Enabling families in Israel who fled their homes to keep in touch with family, colleagues and the world.
In these difficult times for the State of Israel and the residents of the south, we are raising funds to purchase laptops, tablets and, cell phones for families who have been evacuated from their homes in southern Israel as a consequence of the horrific terrorist attacks.
Thousands of families have had to flee their homes in a matter of seconds, forcing them to leave behind all their personal belongings – including laptops, tablets, and cell phones.
They have approached us to assist them with this urgent need.
We believe that technology has the power to connect people and support them during these terrible times. We know that laptops, tablets and, cell phones are essential tools for young and old to learn, work and communicate.
We are in direct contact with community leaders from the settlements, kibbutzim and towns whose residents have evacuated. Parents need to use laptops for connecting and working, their children need to resume their virtual learning schedule and to be encouraged through enriching platforms.
The Yakira & Kaly families, Yoel Cheshin and the Love.com/Israel Foundation have partnered with The American Zionist Movement (which is the umbrella Zionist federation in the USA, affiliated with WZO), which will collect tax-deductible donations in the US, and 2B Friendly, an Israeli NGO that will handle the operation in Israel.
2B Friendly’s leading project -“Mitchashvim” has successfully collected and distributed thousands of computers throughout Israel over the years, making sure that all donations are designated specifically for families in need. We will use this distribution model as our logistic base. We have agreed that, based on the funding we receive, we will allocate the products fairly making sure every family receives at least one device.
Our goal is to purchase 3000 units (laptops, tablets and cell phones) based on the funding we receive, the availability of the suppliers, and logistic issues.
We commit to using 100% of all donations for purchasing units at the best rate possible.
Together with the ISRAEL EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND every donation will be monitored and overseen by Mitchasvim including selecting families in need.
