On March 24, 2024 (14 Adar 5784) we celebrated Purim. The American Zionist Movement continued our longstanding “AZM Purim Connection” program to maintain the bond linking American Jewry with Israel by sharing our holiday joy and providing Mishloach Manot to those in need living in Eretz Yisrael.
This year we provided 700 Mishloach Manot packages Israelis displaced from their homes after 10/7. These evacuees, many of whom are families with children, from Southern and Northern border communities are still living in hotels and temporary housing throughout Israel.
Purim gifts were delivered by The Spirit of Israel in partnership with the Fund for Victims of Terror (FVOT) of the Jewish Agency. The FVOT is providing immediate support to Israeli families impacted by the Hamas terror and war. The Spirit of Israel is an NGO established in 1988 by the Jewish Agency. Its mission is to strengthen Israeli society by supporting educational and social programs, through the development of charitable giving and engaging the Israeli public in Israel and in the diaspora in social activism. Focusing on Israel’s geographical and social periphery, the Spirit of Israel works with volunteers and donors from the private and business sectors in order to close social gaps and support vulnerable populations.
