The American Zionist Movement (AZM) stands in solidarity with the people of Israel. All of our member organizations are horrified by the scope and brutality of the unprecedented attack by Hamas. This is a tragedy of incomprehensible scope for Israel and the Jewish People. As we mourn those murdered and grieve with their families, we also pray for the recovery of the wounded and for the release of all hostages. Am Yisrael Chai!
AZM is the umbrella Zionist Federation in the United States of the World Zionist Organization (WZO), founded by Theodor Herzl to unite world Jewry and connect us to Israel.
AZM has established an Israel Emergency Relief Fund to support the crisis response work of the WZO in Israel. There are now, and will for a long time, be serious and immediate needs on the ground in Israel. WZO headquarters in Jerusalem has established a national coordination center to identify needs and source supplies and services to meet those needs quickly and efficiently. The Center is also assisting with logistical and customs arrangements for large shipments of supplies from Jewish communities around the world.
Currently needed are services and supplies for people evacuated from their homes in the vicinity of Gaza and supplies for IDF soldiers in the field.

AZM has already distributed funding to the WZO which has immediately been used to supply the following (updated as of 12.1.2023):
- 7,000 mattresses for soldiers on bases
- 5,000 sets of thermal underwear for soldiers
- 15,000 portable battery chargers to soldiers
- 8 "Butterfly" ultrasound scanners for combat surgeries
- 10,000 headlamp flashlights
- 1,800 water-resistant fleece jackets for soldiers
- 70 warm coats for lone soldiers
- 20 medical kits for rapid response squads
- Portable showers for soldiers in the field
- Washing machine stations for border police
- 1,200 storage units for residents of the Shaar HaNegev and Hof Ashkelon regions
- Craft supplies for the Sheba-Tel HaShomer Hospital’s daycare center caring for staff children while parents tend to the wounded
- A truckload of new clothing sent to the hotels housing kibbutz members who had to evacuate from the south
- The creation of a center for recreational activities for those evacuated from the kibbutzim and moshavim surrounding Gaza
- 46 Tarbut LeYisrael art and musical cultural events for children and families evacuated from the region near Gaza including a youth club in Nitzan
- Housing for dozens of volunteers in Eilat, the Dead Sea and Ma'ale Hachamisha who are operating the daycare centers for children of evacuees
- 500 kg dog food for deserted pets in the kibbutzim near Gaza
- Regards from Home project to assist lone soldiers
- Our Home is Your Home project to provide apartments to displaced families
