One Year is Too Long: Rally for the Soldiers
On July 16, 2007, 5,000 people gathered outside the United Nations to demand the immediate and unconditional release of the abducted Israeli soldiers Gilad Shalit, Ehud Goldwasser, and Eldad Regev, who have been in the custody of terrorists for more than a year. Speakers included Karnit and Miki Goldwasser, wife and mother of Ehud Goldwasser, as well as political and community leaders. The rally was sponsored by the American Zionist Movement as well as the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York in cooperation with the United Jewish Communities and UJA-Federation of New York.
