Neve Zedek: The Father of Tel Aviv with Julia Newman

Jews created Neve Zedek, meaning “An Oasis of Justice” at the end of the 19th century because they wanted to live in an oasis of justice, well-being, prosperity, modernization, and hygiene – the opposite of the nearby Old Jaffa from where they came. We will visit this charming neighborhood’s first modern Hebrew-speaking school, the home of the Israeli Nobel Prize laureate for literature, the first Hebrew-speaking cinema, and more.
