The American Zionist Movement is appalled that the “Students for Justice in Palestine” (SJP) organization has called for a “national day of resistance” on campuses on October 12th.
SJP’s campaign, announced after the barbaric Hamas attack on Israel this week, is a vile glorification of terrorism and war crimes. It directly attacks the existence of the Jewish national homeland in Israel. This Anti-Zionism is antisemitism that cannot be tolerated. It is especially harmful to Jewish students on campuses.
All college and university administrations should condemn SJP events that celebrate hatred, brutality and mass murder and prohibit them from being held on campus. We call on academic leaders to speak out forcefully and unequivocally against the exaltation of Hamas.
We also call on all students, faculty and alumni of campuses where the offensive “days of resistance” gatherings are scheduled to contact the leadership of these institutions and local political leaders and demand that they be prohibited and strongly condemned.
