Shelley Sherman, Secretary

ShelleySherman-SmallShelley Sherman of Great Neck, New York, has represented Hadassah on the AZM Board for the past six years and recently joined its program committee. She is currently a member of Hadassah’s National Assembly, served on its Board for many years and as a National Vice President. She currently chairs its Governance Committee. She was in charge of Young Judaea when it was part of Hadassah and helped facilitate its transition to an independent entity. She sits on the Board of Young Judaea and on its finance and development committees.

Shelley was President of Temple Isaiah of Great Neck from June 2005 – June 2007 and has served on its Board and Executive Committee for over 30 years.

Shelley graduated from George Washington University with a degree in political science, and from Hofstra University School of Law.  She practiced public service law and taught Torts and Trial Advocacy before retiring to become a full time volunteer.

Shelley’s late husband David Diamond, was a law Professor and they have two children Daniel and Hanna.  Shelley has a new granddaughter, Adina, born in February.
